Privacy policy
Last updated 15 August 2026
The short version. We collect what we need to find you a flat: your name, your number, and what you're looking for. We use it to call or message you and to find flats that match. Local agents are told what you need, never who you are. We do not sell your data. Ask us to delete it and we will.
1. Who we are
Mr Ghar is a rental concierge service operating in Andheri West and Bandra West, Mumbai. The service is operated by Driving Force Marketing, a sole proprietorship registered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act"), Driving Force Marketing is the Data Fiduciary, meaning the entity that decides why and how your personal data is handled. You are the Data Principal.
2. What we collect
When you contact us, respond to one of our ads, or use our service, we collect:
- Who you are. Your name, phone number, and email address if you give us one.
- What you're looking for. Preferred locality or pocket, budget, number of bedrooms, when you want to move in, and who will be living there (family, couple, sharing, students, company lease), because Mumbai buildings ask.
- Anything else you tell us. Your workplace area if you want a commute-friendly shortlist, and requirements such as furnishing, parking, or pets.
- Our conversations. WhatsApp messages, call notes and emails, so the person calling you knows what was already discussed.
We do not ask for identity documents, financial account details, salary slips or any government identifier in order to start looking. If a landlord or a registration process later requires documents, that is handled directly between you and them. We do not collect them for our own records.
3. Why we use it
- To call or message you back and understand what you need.
- To source and shortlist flats that match, from agents who hold that inventory.
- To arrange and accompany site visits.
- To help with negotiation, the agreement and move-in.
- To check in during your search and after, so we know whether we did a good job.
- Only if you separately agree to it, to send you occasional rental market updates.
We use your data for those purposes and no others. We do not build advertising profiles from it, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
4. Consent, and taking it back
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you send us a message, submit one of our forms, or respond to one of our ads. We ask for two consents separately, because they are two different things:
- Service consent. That we may call or message you about your flat search. This one is required, because without it there is no service.
- Marketing consent. That we may send you rental market updates from time to time. This one is optional, and saying no to it changes nothing about the service you get.
You can withdraw either consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it: reply STOP to any message, or write to us at hello@mrghar.com. Withdrawing consent does not make anything we did beforehand unlawful, and we will stop processing on receipt. If you withdraw service consent while we are mid-search, we will not be able to carry on looking for you. We will tell you that plainly rather than quietly continue.
5. Who we share it with
- Local inventory agents — your requirements only, never your identity. To find flats we tell agents in your suburb what is needed: the size, the budget band, the pocket and the timeline. We do not give them your name, your number or your email. Mr Ghar arranges every viewing with you directly, and comes with you to it. You are our client, not theirs.
- Landlords and housing societies, at the point where you have chosen a flat and are applying for it. They will need to know who is applying, and we will tell you before anything is passed on.
- Service providers we rely on to operate, such as our messaging and hosting providers. They process data on our instructions only.
- Where the law requires it, such as a lawful order from a court or a government authority.
We do not sell your personal data. We never have, and it isn't part of how we make money.
6. If you came from a Facebook or Instagram ad
Some of our ads use Meta's instant forms, where you fill in your details without leaving Facebook or Instagram. In that case Meta collects those details on its own platform first and we then retrieve them. Meta's handling of your data on its platforms is governed by Meta's own privacy policy, not this one. Once the details reach us, this policy applies to them in full.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your details while we are helping you, and for up to 24 months afterwards. Leases end and people move again, and it helps to remember what you liked. After that we delete or anonymise them. If you ask us to delete sooner, we do it, keeping only what a law requires us to retain.
8. How we protect it
Access is limited to the two people who run Mr Ghar. Our systems are protected by access controls, our website is served over HTTPS, and we hold client records under a reference number rather than by name wherever a name is not needed. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.
9. Your rights under the DPDP Act
As a Data Principal you have the right to:
- Know what personal data of yours we hold and who we have shared it with.
- Correct anything inaccurate, complete anything incomplete, and update anything stale.
- Erase your personal data where we no longer need it for the purpose you gave it for.
- Withdraw consent at any time, as described in section 4.
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
- Be heard, through a readily available way to raise a grievance, which is section 11.
To exercise any of these, write to hello@mrghar.com or call +91 99300 48095. We respond within 7 working days and will not charge you for it.
10. Children
Mr Ghar is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect the personal data of children. If you believe a child's data has reached us, tell us and we will delete it.
11. Grievances
If something about how we handled your data isn't right, raise it with us first. We would much rather fix it ourselves.

12. Cookies and this website
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or tracking pixels. Nothing about your visit here is recorded beyond the standard server logs our hosting provider keeps to serve the page and keep it secure. If that ever changes, this section changes with it before the change goes live.
